I find God's grace so amazing. I looked at the genealogy of Jesus and came across a woman called Rahab (Matthew 1:5). Rahab a well known prostitute in the city of Jericho who literally lived inside the wall (Joshua 2:15). I mean who didn't know Rahab in Jericho?! Little did they know she was about to become famous for something more glorious than her past.
The entire city is petrified because the Israelites are spying out their land (Joshua 2). The Israelites whose God parted the Red Sea (Exodus 14:20-22) and wiped out and conquered cities (Joshua 2:10-11) and yet Rahab hid the two spies (Joshua 2:6).
"Then the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, “Bring out the men who have come to you, who entered your house, for they have come to search out all the land." (Joshua 2:3)"
At what point did you become sick and tired of the godless life you were living? When did say:
"I WANT OUT!"
"I need, No. I'm desperate for that same grace the Israelites have. I want God to fight for me, love me, talk to me. I AM desperate!"
"I need to form an alliance with you!"
Rahab hid them and had a very strategic conversation with them (Joshua 2:8-14). That same grace is available today, but
it must be received (John 1:16). Rahab was just about ready to switch Kingdoms just like the thief who was nailed next to Jesus (Luke 23:39-43). They both moved from the Kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light (Colossians 1:13). The day Rahab formed an alliance with the Israelites was the day she surrendered her life, her past, her body and even the gods she worshiped to God.
God knew who Rahab was, He knew all about her and what she did. That same God says to you "Here I am. I'm available. Receive my grace. Come over to the Kingdom of Light."
